In a nutshell...
Nexus Alpha is a company that takes its responsibilities seriously. These are not hollow words.
As with most commercial organisations, we have to balance the needs of our employees and our clients in an environment where commercial constraints are placed on us through competition. Our clients, of course, find themselves in the same place. And thus the cycle continues.
What are we trying to do? We're trying to produce the best systems possible, taking pride in our work. We're trying to "do the right thing", in the broadest context. We are trying to exceed expectation.
We believe in looking after our suppliers. We need them! And we try to find suppliers who have the same approach as we do.
And every business needs partners to work with. We've been lucky enough to find some we really like and who are really good at what they do.
For our employees, we look to give job security, and provide interesting and stimulating work. We pay overtime. We have an element of flexible working. We offer twenty-eight days of annual leave each year on top of Bank Holidays.
Our clients are of course our life blood. They provide us with the income we need to exist - and, we hope, to flourish! Over the years we have built long-term relationships based on trust and mutual benefit.
Businesses need to be responsible in a whole number of areas. Ours promotes the use of public transport through the provision of technology solutions that help both the transport operators, and their customers. Nexus Alpha Low Power Systems has taken this one step further, developing methods of presenting transport information to the public that can be powered using locally generated renewable energy (i.e principally solar power, with a bit of wind-generated power for good measure). Nexus Alpha Low Power Systems is the new company created around the Nexus Alpha Engineering Department, and was launched in November 2009.

Products and Services
Nexus Alpha's approach to products and services is to develop generic software that can be used by many different companies in the public transport arena. Thus our clients don't have to fund the full cost of one-off product development, with Nexus Alpha instead being funded through a recurring licence model.
We therefore ensure our solutions are generic, whilst at the same time making them flexible enough to meet the requirements of all of our clients.
We develop software using the most appropriate technology for the "job in hand", and thus have multiple teams of developers at our sites.
