We have created this page to allow easy access to information about all of the PIDD-related products and services which Nexus Alpha have developed.
What is PIDD?
PIDD Stands for "Passenger Information During Disruption". This is the industry initiative to improve information for passengers during high levels of unplanned service disruption.
- More background about PIDD can be found here.
Sending Information During Service Disruption
The key to sending consistent accurate disruption information from Rail Controls is to create one version of the truth and to ensure that all recipients are kept up to date with the very latest position.
Tyrell IO allows staff to capture, manage and send information about incidents, providing details of the problem, the impact and providing customers with advice.
- Click here to find out how Tyrell IO fully supports the PIDD process.
Delivering Accurate Consistent Information to Staff
It is essential that all staff who may be impacted by the disruption always have the latest relevant information to hand so that they pass on the most timely and suitable advice to customers.
TyrellCheck and the TyrellCheck Mobile Apps can provide unified, shared information across the whole rail industry. They can also be configured to the exact requirements of every individual user.

Delivering Accurate Consistent Information to Customers
As we know from the latest National Passenger Survey, 87% of customers still first find out about disruption after arriving at the station. We provide a number of PIDD solutions that address this issue.
For customers at stations, we provide an interface from Tyrell that allows train cancellations and alterations to be passed automatically to the local CIS, providing consistent information about disruption on stations as well as via other outlets. We also provide PIDD disruption screens.
To allow TOCs to keep customers informed at all times, we provide a number of different solutions, all presenting accurate views of "joined up" information.
- More details about keeping customers informed using JourneyCheck, JourneyCheck Alerts and JourneyCheck Rainbow Boards can be found here.
We now provide TOCs with detailed period reports on PIDD compliance (including CSL2 messages and updates) via our PIDD Reporting Suite.
Information about the PIDD Reporting Suite can be found here.
