Kevin Barraclough

Software Engineer

I am a programmer who started off working on Internet related projects way back in 2000, then as my skills grew, I was able to branch off into other areas.  I now work on Tyrell related projects as and when they come up.  I am currently helping to do some extensive testing on a new version of Tyrell.
Doing something that could be considered geeky (programming computers) one might expect me to do something "cool" outside of work, but I am just as geeky there with an interest in Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and war-gaming.  I do play guitar (badly) in an attempt to be non geeky :P.  I am married to Michelle who is a saint to put up with me.

JourneyCheck

JourneyCheck provides train and underground updates, live departure and arrival boards and email and SMS alerts to the travelling public. JourneyCheck provides a useful service to the commuter so he can better deal with any disruption to his journey from and to work by knowing about it in advance. The information comes direct from the rail control rooms so it is comprehensive and up to the minute. JourneyCheck is available on web, WAP and PDA so it can be used at home or at the office, and out and about - at stations and on trains. Users can also receive alerts about their regular routes by SMS or email.

Each JourneyCheck is TOC specific and is branded with the TOC’s colours and logo. A TOC can use JourneyCheck to drive traffic to its website. A custom skin can also be applied to JourneyCheck so it appears as a seamless part of the TOC’s website. A XML version of JourneyCheck is also available so updates can be presented on the TOC’s homepage.

There is now a Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQs) section within JourneyCheck, and JourneyCheck Alerts.

You can access JourneyCheck via the following TOCs websites:
