JourneyCheckJourneyCheck provides train and underground updates, live departure and arrival boards and email and SMS alerts to the travelling public. JourneyCheck provides a useful service to the commuter so he can better deal with any disruption to his journey from and to work by knowing about it in advance. The information comes direct from the rail control rooms so it is comprehensive and up to the minute. JourneyCheck is available on web, WAP and PDA so it can be used at home or at the office, and out and about - at stations and on trains. Users can also receive alerts about their regular routes by SMS or email. Each JourneyCheck is TOC specific and is branded with the TOC’s colours and logo. A TOC can use JourneyCheck to drive traffic to its website. A custom skin can also be applied to JourneyCheck so it appears as a seamless part of the TOC’s website. A XML version of JourneyCheck is also available so updates can be presented on the TOC’s homepage. There is now a Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQs) section within JourneyCheck, and JourneyCheck Alerts. You can access JourneyCheck via the following TOCs websites:

A version of JourneyCheck which combines disruption information for several TOCs can also be seen on the public access terminals recently commissioned for Durham County Council (see here). As well as JourneyCheck, the following train operating companies make JourneyCheck Alerts available to customers:

When registering for the receipt of alerts via SMS, the two stations are abbreviated to three characters, called CRS codes. The links below detail the CRS codes for all the stations of the TOCs who offer JourneyCheck Alerts to customers:
