Tyrell IO is the next generation of Tyrell software. It combines over 15 years of experience in producing messaging tools for the public transport industry with a new, powerful flexible software architecture.

For those of you that know Tyrell well, we have started with the current level of messaging capability, and built out from there. Closer unification with our Internet-based solutions such as JourneyCheck and JourneyCheck Alerts will allow for both client server solutions and web based access, the latter as the solution is further developed.

Tyrell IO is already being utilised by us at our Data Centre as the tool that forwards enhanced London Underground information directly to existing Tyrell systems in TOC Controls. This free service was launched in March 2008. The same information from Transport for London has also been integrated within JourneyCheck.

Having recently upgraded Tyrell in TOC Controls to allow for the capture of multiple-service part cancellations, we've now implemented a station facilities template on Tyrell IO. This introduces a new category of data capture to complement the existing engineering works, route disruption and service updates. This will allows TOCs to update staff and customers about any issues associated with station access and station facilities.
